Introducing MyiList, a wishlist for iTunes

Website: MyiList.com

Here's a website I've been working for the last year and a half in the time I managed to find outside of my day job etc.  The goals from the start were simple:

- A wishlist should be smart, you should get notifications when items on your wishlist drop in price.
- A wishlist should be easy, and adding items to your wishlist should be frictionless.
- And a wishlist should be social, you should be able to share your wishlist with friends.

The idea originated after I started really getting into the Apple TV and using the in-built wishlist feature, I made a huge list of movies I wanted to buy and as it was Christmas time they were all about $12. Looking back I shouldn't have been surprised when they jumped up in price a month later when I wanted to actually buy them, but at the time, as a new Apple TV owner, it caught me by surprise. Another niggling thing I noticed was when I added a movie to the wishlist then purchased it - it wouldn't allow me to remove it from the wishlist - the only option was to play the movie - leaving it forever in my 'wishlist'.

I loved the idea of having a wishlist but I wanted it to tell me when movies dropped in price and I wanted the whole process of managing movies to be faster than the Apple TV interface. I didn't jump straight to the idea of building my own, it was only after I came up empty when searching for alternatives. I decided that I'd build it myself - and MyiList was born. This was never about making money, this was about making a website that I wanted to use and I hope that it shows.

I sweated the details on this one and I'm pretty proud of the end result. Looking back I do wish I had've blogged about it more as I was going through the design changes and decisions - all that content and those thoughts that already feel lost in past months. Live and learn, blogging is a great thing and I’m going to embrace it more, but for now...

Thanks for reading and please visit: MyiList.com.

  1. As for the quality of music playback for me, this is achieved to a greater extent by using iTunes portable download from YepDownload https://yepdownload.com/itunes-portable
It means I have all my multimedia content organized and synchronized. Usually, I watch and listen to music and streaming funny videos and also I had obtained new audiovisual content in the store.
Can this media player get a score of 5/5?

  2. Truly, you can't turn out badly with an iTunes gift card. Covertly, a large number of your relatives are thinking "get us an iTunes gift card", they would just never say it. iTunes store credit is simply excessively helpful.
